SUBJECT: Register Now- AHRQ’s Effective Health Care Program Web Conference with Carolyn Clancy on October 12th

Comparative effectiveness research has emerged as a critical element of health care improvement. It compares drugs, medical devices, tests, surgeries, or ways to deliver health care. AHRQ’s Effective Health Care Program conducts comparative effectiveness
research, producing research reviews, new research reports, and plain-language guides that summarize findings for clinicians, patients, and consumers, as well as other resources such as continuing education modules for providers.

To highlight AHRQ’s existing comparative effectiveness research and ways that it can be used by clinicians for day-to-day decisionmaking in their practices, this Web conference will include these presentations:

"The Role of CER in Health Care Improvement," Carolyn M. Clancy, M.D.¸ Director, AHRQ
"AHRQ's Existing CER Resources on Diabetes and Cardiac Conditions," Jean R. Slutsky, P.A., M.S.P.H., Director of AHRQ's Center for Outcomes and Evidence
Examples of Incorporating CER Into Clinical Practice (Speakers TBD)
