Note from Michael Parkinson: Are you are a health professional committed to
evidence-based medicine, prevention, and public health? If so, I strongly
encourage you to attend Preventive Medicine 2001 in Miami in February 2001.
Sponsored by the American College of Preventive Medicine, this exciting meeting
features tracks in: Clinical Preventive Medicine; Prevention Policy;
E-Health/Quality Improvement; Public Health Practice; and Career Development.
Attend a stimulating keynote address by John Eisenberg, Director of the Agency
for Healthcare Research and Quality, on emerging issues in patient safety and
medical errors. Plenary sessions, individual track presentations, hands-on
demonstrations, mini-courses, poster sessions, roundtables, and social events
will provide a range of stimulating environments for learning and networking.
Another innovative feature is an exciting local public health planning event being organized in conjunction with the Florida Department of Health. Meeting attendees will be able to actively participate with the Department of Health as it plans Florida's response to a potential influenza pandemic.
