1. Feedback is needed for our March Membership meeting: We are considering a teleconference option if there is enough interest and we may have a choice of two locations . Our general membership meeting will be March 23, 2000 in Atlanta GA in conjunction with Prevention 2000. The physical setting will either be Grady Hospital (arranged by Board Trustee Erica Frank MD MPH) or the Atlanta Hilton. The Grady Hospital option will be less expensive. PLEASE EMAIL aaphp@iname.com if you would consider attending BY TELEPHONE or if you HAVE A PREFERENCE IN SITES IF ATTENDING IN PERSON.

2. One-day educational conference March 10, 2000
"Drinking Water and Disease: What Every Health Care Provider Should Know" in Washington, DC for physicians, nurses and public health professionals on the topic of . AAPHP is a co-sponsor with Physicians for Social Responsibility (PSR)

3. Selected sessions from the Healthy People Conference "Partnerships for Health in the New Millennium" in Washington DC 1/24 to 1/28 will be available via satellite and Internet. Physicians for Social Responsibility to Host Conference on "Drinking Water and Disease: What Every Health Care Provider Should Know" Physicians for Social Responsibility is hosting a one-day conference entitled "Drinking Water and Disease: What Every Health Care Provider Should Know". The conference, which is jointly sponsored by CDC and ATSDR, will be held in the Washington DC area on Friday, March 10, 2000.
  
This conference, intended primarily for physicians, nurses, and public health professionals, has the following objectives:  Educating health professionals on the new Consumer Confidence Reports now required by EPA; * Increasing understanding among health professionals about potential contaminants in local drinking water supplies, potential health effects, vulnerable populations and appropriate medical responses; * Improving physician diagnostic skills with regard to illness due to environmental hazards; and * Identifying ways that health professionals can get involved in protecting and cleaning up drinking water sources in their communities.
